Alllll the Baby Products / Links

Let me start by saying, I am a first time mom (clearly) and have not given birth (yet), so I cannot attest to how much we use everything or what my absolute must-have or don’t-order products are. That being said, a lot of you fellow first-time-moms have asked what we’re buying to prepare for our baby, his nursery, and our apartment and I dont plan on linking much while on my maternity leave, so I want to get ahead of the questions and have everything in one place.

When the time comes and I am able to, I will update this post and include notes on what we used the most, what we could’ve done without, and additional products we loved (this update is now included with the links / descriptions below!!). It should also be said that I really dont think any of these are necessary products. Yes, I am grateful that we’re able to have them all, but all a baby really needs is love, boobs (or formula), and diapers. If you look at this list and are overwhelmed, know that is not my goal here whatsoever, but I also understand. I got veryyyy overwhelmed by the many of lists people sent me, which is why I tried to collect, seek feedback on, and organize for all of you. I hope this helps!

PS many of these items were gifted to us by friends and family through our registry and we are forever grateful for their love and support, both through these gifts and emotionally. We were also fortunate enough to be given a few items directly from the brands, so I have included “#gifted” for when that is the case. Many of these links are affiliate links, so thank you in advance if you choose to purchase from them.

Nursery (3).png
  1. PB pin dot sheet with this PB quilt

  2. Puppy knit mobile

  3. Ubbi diaper pail: I love the ease of this for opening/closing when disposing of diapers and, most importantly, it traps the smell

  4. Babyletto changing tray: we absolutely love how there is space next to the changing station to place all of the diapers / butt creams / wipes / etc all at the same level

  5. Kekaroo peanut changer: CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH! Changing diapers gets messy (especially when you have a boy and there are lots of open air pees) and this thing has already seen it’s fair share of accidents. I cannot fathom having a changing pad with a sheet cover on it because we would be washing that thing almost every day. Simple wipe down after an accident as you’re good as new.

  6. Newton crib mattress: we were #gifted the mini-crib mattress and have not used yet since he hasn’t been sleeping in his nursery (as of 5weeks)

  7. Babyletto hudson 6-drawer dresser: this was the dresser that came assembled but originally absolutely destroyed. Fortunately, we reached out to the brand since we purchased directly from their website and they replaced it with a new one in a very timely manner. As of now, we are enjoying

  8. Mirror

  9. Babyletto 4-in-1 convertible mini crib: for space purposes, we wanted a mini-crib and this was my favorite of the options I saw, but we have not used yet since he hasn’t been sleeping in his nursery (as of 5weeks)

  10. Woodland prints: I absolutely loved these prints when I saw them on Etsy and immediately knew they would be perfect in our nursery. They come in a set of 6 and you can specifically ask the creator what color scheme you’d like.

  11. Babyletto Kiwi recliner: HIGHLY recommend for any moms who plan to breast feed. So insanely comfortable with the recliner and love the ability to rock and glide side to side to get my son to sleep.

  12. Snoo: Definitely the most expensive item, but what he has been sleeping in for the night stretches since we got home from the hospital. While I love the look of it and my son seems to enjoy it, I’m not one of those “this thing has saved my life” people. Also, for the price, I’ve found the customer service to be very subpar in the times we’ve faced technical issues. There is also a “rental” option that could be worth looking into.

Other (not in the graphic above):

  1. Graco pack ‘n play: this is something we will likely use when we travel to local places (weddings, parent’s houses, etc) for him to not only play in but eventually also sleep in. (As of 5weeks, have not used yet)

  2. Hatch sound machine: absolutely love this sound machine for his nursery. We use it for night changes as a sound machine and as a night light and I love that you can control it from your phone or with the tap of your fingers once you set up your favorites. Highly recommend!

  3. Eufy travel baby monitor: this is helpful for when we travel, but I hate that the camera has to be plugged in and comes with the world’s shortest cord (a small complaint, but annoying)

  4. Lovevery gym: we love this for tummy time!

  5. Baby shusher: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Seems so silly and simple, but it soothes him so quickly and the “shush” this voice makes is longer and more frequent than my lungs could ever allow

  6. Uppababy Vista V2 stroller: we love this stroller as it is a very smooth ride around the NYC streets and allows for storage underneath for my diaper bag. I love that it comes with the bassinet and then the other seat to eventually swap in. My one complaint is that, for the city streets of the West Village, it is a bit wide.

  7. Lalo bib: (haven’t used yet)

  8. Nanit smart baby monitor: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We have this monitor in his nursery for when he naps and eventually for when he sleeps through the night in there and we love it. The night vision is incredible and I love that you can monitor everything from your phone and keep the background audio on when you want to continue to hear what’s going on but not be glued to your phone. Plus, you can turn on notifications for sound and/or noise.

  9. Babybjorn bouncer: we just started using (at 5 weeks) and my son seems to enjoy! I will say, my calf gets a bit tired from the physical bouncing, not going to lie.

  10. Nuna PIPA car seat & base: when using an additional adapter, this car seat hooks up to the Uppababy Vista and does not require you to permanently dock the base in a car. We originally planned to have this in the stroller to use for ubers and such, but when we got the Doona it seemed silly so we keep this in our car at all times. Was easy. to install and my son seems to really enjoy. itso I would recommend!

  11. Dockatot deluxe+ dock: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Amazingly comfortable option for my son to be in while napping on our couch or even on our kitchen/dining table. Keeps him confined during this newborn phase.

Things Not Shown in the Image Above:

  • The pillow we put in our stroller to avoid flathead is from amazon

  • Doona car seat / stroller: I totally realize it seems excessive to have this and the Uppababy stroller, but it made sense for us while we’re living in NYC. This option is what we use if we are ubering somewhere or going for a longer walk / dinner at a small restaurant as it is way more compact than the Uppababy. The transition from stroller to car seat is incredibly easy once you get the hang of it and the process of installing it as a car seat in a car takes minimal time.

  • Doona sunshade extension: easy to take on / off and perfect for coverage from the sun

  • Stroller cup / phone holder: perfect to have on the side of your stroller to keep things easily accessible

  • Battery operated fan: we keep this in the base of our stroller to hook on to the handle and face at him whenever it is really hot outside

  • Soothie pacifiers: our pacifier of choice as it also mimics the shape of a nipple so we don’t have “confusion” while I am still breast feeding

  • Pacifier clip: great to hook on to the baby’s clothes so that the pacifier isn’t continuously missing

  • Baby scale: I was too curious about his weight to wait for all of the doctor’s visits so we’ve found this helpful to weigh him in between appointments

Nursery.png
  1. Papablic baby bottle sterilizer: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Seems unnecessary, but when you’re dealing with a newborn and time is everything, you dont want to be sterilizing your bottles and pumping appliances in boiling water. This device is a time-saver and I am all about getting those extra minutes where I can

  2. Comotomo baby bottles: we all love these bottles as they are a soft silicone material so I don’t have to worry when I inevitably drop them and the wide top makes them easy to clean.

  3. Drying rack with this Drying rack accessory

  4. Babyganics laundry detergent

  5. Diaper caddy: HIGHLY RECOMMEND to have these in multiple areas of your home wherever you plan to change your baby’s diaper. We load ours up with diapers, butt cream, wipes, and a burping cloth

  6. Honest bathtime routine: we love!

  7. Thrive market diapers: we ended up not loving these diapers, so I would not recommend

  8. Babyganics hand sanitizer

  9. Nail clippers: super easy to use and gets the job done

  10. Bottle brush

  11. Coterie baby wipes

  12. Muslin burp cloths: cannot have enough of these, we have them stashed all over our apartment

Things Not Shown in the Image Above:

  • Wipes dispenser: incredibly helpful while changing diapers to not have to worry about opening / closing a package of wipes. This is a “push down to pop open” type of device and is another small thing that makes life easier

  • Coterie diapers: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! After trying a few different brands, these are hands down the best option we’ve used and my son absolutely loves. They are so soft and they have the line that darkens when there is urine inside so you know if it needs to be changed or not with a quick glance. Code “coteriecameron” gets you $20 off any first-time order of $75 or more

  • Baby bum brush: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Seems so silly, but this little device is so helpful when applying diaper cream to not only keep your hands clean but also get in all the nooks and crannies.

  • Boudreaux’s butt paste: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Our favorite diaper cream and, when using the applicator above, I love that it is a lid to pop off rather than a squeeze tube

  • Frida 3-in-1 cradle cap: HIGHLY RECOMMEND if your baby gets cradle cap - this helps it go away ASAP

4.png
  1. Calvin Klein nursing bra: these are a great option, but I actually have been enjoying the bravado ones more

  2. Frida Mom postpartum recovery kit: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Equipped with all the goods for your 4th trimester postpartum recovery

  3. Nook feeding pillow: after using this for the first few weeks, I would not recommend it. In my opinion, it is overpriced for what it is

  4. Earth Mama nipple butter: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Very helpful and soothing

  5. Mesh panties: similar to the underwear you will have (and should steal from) at the hospital

  6. Breastfeeding ice packs

  7. Artipoppe carrier: I was #gifted this product and absolutely love my carrier

  8. Sollybaby wrap: I was #gifted a few of these and absolutely love to wear around the apartment as it is softer and more compact than the artipope

  9. Women’s diapers: again, 4th trimester is no joke

  10. Nursing pads

  11. Medela pump in style: I got this pump for free through my insurance and highly recommend (although I have not tried another full pump to compare it to). HIGHLY RECOMMEND making sure you have additional parts (flanges and bottles)

  12. Colugo baby carrier: we were #gifted this more casual carrier that Joe will also feel comfortable wearing

  13. Elvie pump: I was #gifted this product and love as a more compact and “on-the-go” option for pumping. I wear this when I am doing stuff around the apartment or if I am in the car, with other people, etc.

  14. Bravado pumping bra: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If you plan to nurse and pump, I recommend stocking up on these as they can serve both purposes

Things Not Shown in the Image Above:

  • Brest Friend nursing pillow: HIGHLY RECOMMEND! After having serious back pain from 3 weeks of breast feeding I finally ordered this pillow and it helped so much. Very sturdy and useful!

  • Haaka: I am not as “ride or die” by this product as some other people are, but I do find it helpful for catching the excess milk coming out of the breast that I am not nursing on

  • Sunflower lecithin: I began taking this every day when I had mastitis and, thus far, it has really helped with my clogged ducts

  • Nipple shields: HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone with inverted nipples who is planning on breast feeding. Also great for any baby who struggles with their latch and/or if your nipples are cracking from nursing
